{"id":1261,"date":"2026-06-07T08:06:27","date_gmt":"2026-06-07T08:06:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/reliablemovingcrews.com\/?p=1261"},"modified":"2026-06-07T08:06:27","modified_gmt":"2026-06-07T08:06:27","slug":"bouygues-led-consortium-signs-23-44-billion-deal-to-buy-sfr-from-altice-france","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/reliablemovingcrews.com\/?p=1261","title":{"rendered":"Bouygues-led consortium signs $23.44 billion deal to buy SFR from Altice France"},"content":{"rendered":"<div><div><div><ul><li>Summary<\/li><li>Companies<\/li><\/ul><\/div><div><\/div><\/div><div>June 6 (Reuters) &#8211; Bouygues Telecom (BOUY.PA)<svg><\/svg><span>, opens new tab<\/span>, Orange (ORAN.PA)<svg><\/svg><span>, opens new tab<\/span> and Free-iliad Group said on Saturday they have signed a memorandum of understanding with Altice France to buy telecoms operator SFR for \u20ac20.35 billion ($23.44 billion), \u200bincluding debt.<\/div><div>If approved by regulators, the acquisition would rank among the biggest European telecoms deals in \u200brecent years.<\/div><div>A break-up of SFR would reduce the number of mobile network operators in \u2060France to three from four, setting up a key test of antitrust authorities&#8217; willingness to allow consolidation in Europe&#8217;s \u200bcrowded telecoms market.<\/div><div>Under the terms, Bouygues would acquire the largest share of SFR\u2019s assets, accounting for about 52% \u200bof the carved-out revenue, with Free-iliad taking some 27% and Orange 21%. Some assets, including parts of the fixed and mobile networks and IT systems, would be held jointly for a transition period.<\/div><div>The Bouygues-led consortium said on Friday that, in view of \u200bthe progress made in the negotiations, the parties had given themselves another 48 hours to finalise the agreements.<\/div><div>Last \u200bmonth, Altice France extended the exclusivity period for talks with the consortium until June 5 from a prior deadline of May \u200c16, after \u2060the three operators raised their offer in April from around \u20ac17 billion.<\/div><div>Orange Chief Executive Christel Heydemann said in April that the company had begun regulatory discussions ahead of the deal and cited behavioural remedies as one possible route to approval.<\/div><div>&#8220;This agreement is set to reinforce Orange\u2019s leadership position in France and in Europe and will support the ambitions \u200bof our &#8216;Trust the future&#8217; \u200bplan,&#8221; Heydemann said on Saturday.<\/div><div>The \u2060split of the price between buyers remains around 42% for Bouygues Telecom, 31% forFree-iliad and 27% for Orange.
