May 25 (Reuters) – One man was killed and another injured while energy infrastructure \u200bwas damaged in a missile and drone \u200cattack on Russia’s Belgorod region bordering Ukraine, local authorities said on the Telegram messaging app on Monday.<\/div>\n
The casualties were \u200bthe result of the drone and missile strike, \u200band the missiles cut power and water supplies, \u2060the authorities said, noting the attack also hit \u200bthe city of Belgorod.<\/div>\n
Five more people were injured \u200bin drone attacks in the Russian-controlled eastern Ukrainian town of Horlivka, Russian state Vesti TV programme said on Telegram.<\/div>\n
Two people \u200bwere killed and 16 wounded after a Russian \u200bshell, missile and drone attack in Ukraine’s southern Kherson region \u200cthat \u2060began early on Sunday, regional governor Oleksandr Prokudin said on Telegram.<\/div>\n
In Ukraine’s southeastern region of Zaporizhzhia, three people were wounded following Russian airstrikes and drone \u200battacks, local \u200bauthorities said \u2060on Telegram.<\/div>\n
Reuters could not independently verify the reports. Russia and Ukraine deny deliberately \u200btargeting civilians.<\/div>\n
Russia pounded Kyiv and surrounding areas \u200bwith \u2060hundreds of drones and missiles on Sunday in one of the heaviest bombardments of the city since \u2060the \u200bstart of the four-year war, \u200bfiring an Oreshnik hypersonic missile near the capital.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
