The IPO drew $250 billion of investor demand worldwide, Reuters reported this week.<\/div>\n<div>Mizuho Securities USA, \u200ban arm of Mizuho Financial Group (8411.T)<svg><\/svg><span>, opens new tab<\/span> that acted as the \u200bsole Japanese underwriter for the IPO, declined to comment on the total \u200cscale \u2060of Japanese investor demand.<\/div>\n<div>A Mizuho Securities spokesperson said an in-house survey showed more than 1,000 Japan-based customers sought allocations of over 100 million yen ($624,500) and that some investors sought more \u200bthan 10 \u200bbillion yen.<\/div>\n<div>Customer applications \u2060to open Mizuho Securities accounts in the first third of June were four times higher \u200bthan the average over the last 12 \u200bmonths, the \u2060spokesperson added.<\/div>\n<div>The IPO had an unusually high allocation reserved for retail investors of up to 30%.
