KINSHASA, June 14 (Reuters) – The number \u200bof confirmed Ebola cases in \u200cDemocratic Republic of Congo has increased to 782 after 72 new cases were \u200bdocumented in 24 hours, one \u200bof the biggest single-day jumps during \u2060the ongoing outbreak, government data showed on \u200bSunday.<\/div>\n
The confirmed Ebola cases include 181 \u200bdeaths, according to the government’s latest situation report.<\/div>\n
The data shows that the outbreak, Congo’s \u200b17th, remains confined to three provinces \u200bin the east: Ituri, North Kivu and South \u200cKivu.<\/div>\n
But \u2060it showed that cases had been confirmed for the first time in the Nia-Nia health zone in \u200bIturi and \u200bthe Mabalako \u2060health zone in North Kivu.<\/div>\n
There are now confirmed cases \u200bin 20 of Ituri’s 36 \u200bhealth \u2060zones and in 10 of North Kivu’s 34 health zones, as well \u2060as \u200bin one health \u200bzone in South Kivu.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
