June 21 (Reuters) – Jack Draper believes he has found the ideal guide to help him through his return from \u200binjury in new coach Andy Murray, saying \u200cthe former world number one’s own injury-marred career makes him uniquely qualified to help.<\/div>\n
Briton Draper, who reached a career-high \u200branking of number four in 2025, has not \u200bplayed since April and is set to make \u2060his return in Eastbourne on Monday after withdrawing from \u200bthe Queen’s Club tournament.<\/div>\n
The 24-year-old added Murray to his \u200bteam last month and said the two-time Wimbledon champion had given him “amazing support” as he worked his way back to fitness.<\/div>\n
“Andy \u200bobviously has been through so much in his \u200bcareer \u2013 many setbacks, many injuries, many adversities, but he always \u200ccame \u2060through them,” Draper said in an interview published on the Lawn Tennis Association’s website on Saturday.<\/div>\n
“He was incredibly good at coming back and showing what he\u2019s \u200ball about.<\/div>\n
“Having him \u200bin my \u2060corner has been great from that aspect as well. It\u2019s nice that he \u200bbelieves in my tennis and it\u2019s \u200babout the \u2060progress.”<\/div>\n
Draper will face American fifth seed Brandon Nakashima in his opening match at Eastbourne, a warm-up tournament \u2060ahead \u200bof Wimbledon. The third Grand Slam \u200bevent of the year runs from June 29 to July 12.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
