PARIS, June 25 (Reuters) – Parisians will \u200cbe banned from drinking alcohol in public from midday onwards \u200bon Friday in order \u200bto try and curb the health \u2060issues arising from the heatwave \u200bgripping France and much of \u200bEurope, the head of the Paris police said on Thursday.<\/div>\n
“I will publish \u200ban edict this evening \u200bwhich will ban the consumption of \u200calcohol \u2060in public from tomorrow midday onwards. As you know, drinking alcohol with the sun \u200bbeating down \u200bcan \u2060have a devastating effect,” Paris police chief Patrice \u200bFaure told BFM TV.<\/div>\n
He \u200badded \u2060there would also be a ban on the sale \u2060of \u200balcoholic products from \u200bFriday evening onwards in Paris.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
