ATLANTA, June 27 (Reuters) – Democratic Republic of Congo coach Sebastien Desabre said preparations for their World Cup round of 32 clash against England would start immediately after \u200bSaturday\u2019s dramatic come-from-behind win over Uzbekistan.<\/div>\n
The 3-1 triumph in their last Group \u200cK match ensured the Congolese qualified as one of the eight best third-placed finishers and set up a clash with Thomas Tuchel’s side in Atlanta on Wednesday.<\/div>\n
\u201cWe\u2019ll start work \u200bimmediately on preparing. We\u2019ve got a few players in the squad \u200bwho play at clubs in the English league, so they \u2060will help us, but we\u2019ll prepare in the best way we can \u200bfor what is going to be a very big match for us,\u201d said \u200bDesabre, whose side registered their first World Cup victory with Newcastle United\u2019s Yoane Wissa scoring twice.<\/div>\n
Desabre cut into the first questions in his post-match press conference on Saturday to insist \u200bon congratulating and praising his squad.<\/div>\n
\u201cBefore answering, I\u2019d like to congratulate my \u200bplayers for their work. It\u2019s a squad that\u2019s been together for four years, and we \u200chave \u2060always kept on believing.<\/div>\n
\u201cThe win means a lot to the country, and the victory was quite wonderful. It\u2019s very positive, and we showed a good image of Congo,\u201d he told reporters.<\/div>\n
DR Congo had started the clash slowly and \u200bwent behind after \u200b10 minutes, but \u2060Desabre said plans put in place earlier meant he was not concerned.<\/div>\n
\u201cOf course, you are never sure of winning, \u200bbut what is clear is that we made a mistake \u200bin \u2060giving them too much space early on.<\/div>\n
\u201cBut since the start of this World Cup, we\u2019ve planned to use players in this match who did not get to \u2060play \u200bin the first two games (against Portugal and Colombia).<\/div>\n
\u201cTo \u200bhave fresh players provided us with an advantage, and it was quite logical that we should \u200bgo on and win.\u201d<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
