{"id":3177,"date":"2026-06-28T11:13:33","date_gmt":"2026-06-28T11:13:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/reliablemovingcrews.com\/?p=3177"},"modified":"2026-06-28T11:13:33","modified_gmt":"2026-06-28T11:13:33","slug":"thai-family-mourns-teen-girl-found-dead-in-suitcase-as-australian-arrested","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/reliablemovingcrews.com\/?p=3177","title":{"rendered":"Thai family mourns teen girl found dead in suitcase as Australian arrested"},"content":{"rendered":"<div><div>BANGKOK, June 28 (Reuters) &#8211; The family of a 17-year-old Thai girl whose body was found in a suitcase in Pattaya said they were devastated \u200bby her death, for which an Australian man has been arrested \u200cand charged with murder.<\/div><div>Thai police said they arrested an Australian man in his 40s at Bangkok&#8217;s Suvarnabhumi airport early on Saturday in connection with the killing in Pattaya, about \u200b150 km (93 miles) east of Bangkok.<\/div><div>The suspect, identified as Simon Peter Carman, \u200bfaces charges of murder, concealment of a body, moving or \u2060destroying a body, and taking a minor for sexual purposes.<\/div><div>Thai police said \u200bthey reviewed CCTV footage that showed Carman entering a condominium with the girl, \u200bthen leaving alone hours later carrying a suitcase.<\/div><div>In a post on its official Facebook page, police said he loaded the suitcase onto a motorcycle and rode to a grassy area \u200bnear a railway line. Police later issued an arrest warrant and arrested \u200bCarman at the airport as he prepared to board a flight back to Australia.<\/div><div>In an \u200cinvestigation \u2060room at the police station, Carman issued a message to the victim\u2019s family before being transferred to the Pattaya Provincial Court.<\/div><div>&#8220;I feel bad for what happened to your daughter. It was out of my control,&#8221; he said.<\/div><div>The victim&#8217;s father, \u200bThongchai Donhomla, 46, \u200bsaid he was \u2060struggling to come to terms with the loss.<\/div><div>&#8220;I am deeply saddened. My daughter had no mother, so whenever she \u200bwanted anything, she would find a way herself, and she \u200balways helped \u2060me too,&#8221; he said.<\/div><div>Her stepmother, Oradee Bussarakum, said she wanted the suspect to face the harshest punishment.<\/div><div>&#8220;I told the police I want him executed.
