CAIRO, May 31 (Reuters) – An Israeli airstrike killed at least two Palestinians and wounded 12 \u200bon Sunday at a Gaza cafe \u200cthat was packed with people celebrating public holidays, health officials said.<\/div>\n
There was no immediate Israeli \u200bcomment.<\/div>\n
An October ceasefire, brokered by U.S. President \u200bDonald Trump, has failed to halt Israeli \u2060attacks in Gaza.<\/div>\n
Israel and Hamas are \u200bdeadlocked in indirect talks over implementing the \u200bsecond phase of the deal, which includes the group’s disarmament and Israeli army withdrawals.<\/div>\n
The ceasefire left Israel \u200bin control of more than half \u200bof Gaza, with Hamas controlling a sliver of \u200ccoastal \u2060territory. The cafe struck on Sunday was on the emergency seaport in Gaza, a floating dock off the coast that was \u200bmeant to \u200bbe \u2060temporary.<\/div>\n
Some 900 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli strikes since the \u200btruce came into effect, according \u200bto \u2060figures from Gaza health officials that do not distinguish between combatants and civilians.<\/div>\n
Four Israeli \u2060soldiers \u200bhave been killed by militants \u200bduring the same period, the country’s military has said.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
